French energy Schneider Electric has announced the appointment of Ifeanyi Odoh as its new country president for Kenya effective February 2024 to replace Carol Koech who heads to Dubai to lead the firm’s sustainability strategy in international operations.
Odoh joins Schneider Electric Kenya from South East Asia where he served as the strategy and transformation leader in charge of Vietnam and Cambodia.
Prior to his engagement in Asia, he worked as the head of offer marketing and business development in Anglophone West Africa where he led and deployed the commercial actions and go-to-market strategies for Schneider Electric products, software, and services in the region.
Speaking on the appointment, the company’s Anglophone Africa cluster president Devan Pillay termed the appointee a visionary strategist and transformational leader who has proven his capability in driving sustainable growth and innovation for the business.
“We are looking to tap into his expertise in the New Energy Landscape as we unlock new energy opportunities in the region,” stated Pillay.
“As we say thank you and all the best to Carol, we welcome Ifeanyi into his new role and we look forward to tapping into the institutional knowledge and experience gained from the different Schneider Electric markets.”
On his part, Odoh said he will train his focus on working with the local team to deliver a step-up in business performance as well as look to establish new energy concepts and impact entrepreneurship initiatives in the region.
“I am delighted to have been appointed to lead Schneider Electric Kenya. It is a business with an impressive stronghold in East Africa, a strong brand presence, a talented team, and immense growth opportunities,” he remarked.
